Rattlesnake Ledge

Distance: 4 miles round trip
Rattlesnake Ledge is a very popular destination from the Seattle metropolitan area. Located 34 miles from downtown, it's just far enough to escape the city, but not too far. Just head East on I-90 out of Seattle until you reach the North Bend/Snoqualmie Pass area.  Take exit 32 and follow Cedar Creek Rd south until you reach the parking lot. It's not your typical trailhead parking lot - this one accommodates a high volume of visitors.
Rattlesnake Ledge
You'll immediately notice the aforementioned "ledge" of Rattlesnake Mountain, towering high above! However dominating, the area provides more than just this well maintained, high traffic, day hiking opportunity. Rattlesnake Lake is also a key feature of the park, including day use areas, picnic tables, and restroom facilities.
Rattlesnake Lake
The lake is worth visiting. I suggest making time before or after your hike.
Locate the trailhead towards the entrance of the park, on the west side of Cedar Creek Rd. Not the most eventful trail. You'll be guided the entire two mile ascension through a dense forest, with occasional peeks of Rattlesnake Lake. The grade is fairly steady - gaining 1,160ft of elevation in route to the summit.
View from Summit
Depending on the time of year.. Actually, regardless of the time of year, you'll probably encounter visitors at the top. Relax and wait your turn for the best picture opportunities.
Snoqualmie Falls
If you have time, take a 20 minutes detour to Snoqualmie Falls! No hiking necessary, just pull into the parking strip just 10 yards from the viewpoint. It's worth a quick visit!
