Angel's Rest

Distance: 4.8 miles out and back
Sharing parking space with Bridal Veil Falls', the Angel's Rest Trailhead is located in the Columbia river Gorge just off Exit #28 from I-84. Considering the short hike to the summit and its relative proximity to Portland, Angel's Rest is a very popular summer season hike.
Rock-slide path

The path can be rocky at points, but footing is stable and ascents aren’t too steep.

A pair of waterfalls lay on the summit’s path (Coopey Falls & Upper Coopey Falls) but the real attraction is the amazing Columbia Gorge views.

The rocky, exposed bluff of Angle’s Rest summit is a perfect location to kick back and enjoy a panoramic view of the Gorge.
Friendly Chipmunk
Who knew chipmunks liked PBJ?
If you’re lucky, you may encounter some curious critters at the summit.  My hiking partner happens to be a chipmunk whisperer, so I was entertained by his antics.
